The album royalty started out as an experiment. I'd toyed with electronic music all my life, but never from scratch; it was always remixes of existing songs. I'd also spent more than my fair share of time writing music for guitar/bass/drums/piano in multiple genres. So one day in early 2023, I decided to fire up Cubase and try out producing electronic music of my own.
2023 was a particularly difficult year for me. I ended 2022 and started 2023 in a state of heightened emotion, and remained that way for quite some time. In this vulnerable and raw state, I decided to just sit down and pour out everything I could into music.
What started as just a couple songs I had thrown together, put on SoundCloud, and posted on my private social media stories quickly became so much more. I found myself coming up with ideas at the office, jotting down notes and melodies and ideas for patterns, and rushing home after work to put it all together.
Before I knew it, I had become a producer of sorts. It only ended up taking me roughly a week/week and a half to "compose" the entire album, and a couple days to get everything "finalized". While manic, I decided to hell with it, I'll release this to the world. I'm not getting any younger, and it's always been a dream of mine to release music. So here it is.
Almost every song on this album has much deeper meaning to me. I chose the titles based on what I felt as I did the final listen to each track while producing them. Maybe at some point I'll be "brave" enough to post my thoughts about each track.
